BATTLE DAMAGED SOLDIER
This was a "Negotiated project" for a module on my course, where we can choose to create anything we want, that has some relevance to the course. I chose to design and create a jacket and a mechanical arm of my own design.

The arm was made to be puppeted from behind the wearers back. This is using a bicycle brake cable fed through a bowden tube, that when pulled, would raise the lower arm. This was a challenge to work into my design as I have never modelled anything that moves before.
THE JACKET
The jacket is made from various faux suede and leatherette, the pattern template was developed by altering existing jacket to fit, a toile was then made to allow the jacket to be split into various panels. There have been numerous leather parts rivited on, this was my first go at leatherwork and i really enjoyed learning about all the tools and various finishing methods used in that discipline. It was then weathered using various methods including shoe polish, acrylic and oil washes, and fake blood.
MECHANICAL ARM
The arm is mainly 3D printed elements, making use of both resin and FDM printing, but also utilises a copper pipe skeleton to strengthen the piece. The arm was modelled in fusion 360, this was a particular challenge as it was my first project with moving elements. It was painted in a chrome laquer and highlights were added using silver rub'n'buff. It was then sealed in AlClads aqua gloss metalic sealer before weathering the arm with acrylic and oil washes, and fake blood.
